"I just caught my PB of any fish with this rod off a jetty on the Long Island Sound at night with nothing but a circle hook and a blood worm. 5+lb striped bass at least 20in long and he fought like a menace. What an absolute thrill fighting a bigger fish like that is by hand and hand over handing them in (I had a 12 feet of 12lb flouro as my tippet to catch the current). Up until today I’ve caught a dozen or so bluegill on my pond fishing off the canoe with this rod and it’s beyond excellent in that roll. Always just enough line to reach where I want, but also not so much extra getting tangled like a traditional western fly rod. I’ve also taken it to the river a few times and always catch red breasted sunfish with the provided Kabari flies! Theres nothing this rod can’t do! Unbelievable presentation ability always giving you tight lines. Ponds, lakes, streams, rivers, even the bank of the ocean. I’ve gotten fish while others have gotten skunked. And the best part is it all fits in a little tube and all you need is a small pack with a few items and you’re ready to fish anywhere anytime."
